Lea Cetera works in video, sculpture and performance to produce temporal installations that examine the space between object and body, public and private, and virtual and real. Utilizing techniques culled from theater, film and puppetry, her work investigates constructed identities, the fetish object, technology, alienation, fantasy and role-play. Cetera has performed and shown work in New York at John Connelly Presents, Guild and Greyshkul Gallery, Poetry Project at St. Marks Church, Anthology Film Archives and participated in Portugal Arte Biennial 2010. Recent group shows include Coded Conduct at Pilar Corrias Gallery, London, UK, Double Life at Sculpture Center, LIC, NY, and the New Wight Biennial, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA. She holds a MFA from Columbia University, 2012 and a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art, 2005. She lives and works in New York City.
